In 2023 our internal adventure division Three Gears took their trips to the next level!

From scaling oceanside cliffs to canyoning freshwater gorges and everything in between, settle in for our best adventure yet – a recap of the epic trips Three Gears embarked on this year.

We started the year with a bang, kicking off with some fun in the sun, making the most of Australia’s gorgeous summer weather. The adventures were endless, with Three Gears pushing our people to their limits with adrenaline fuelled fun!

Throughout the year, our teams tried their hand at:

  • Abseiling
  • Camping
  • Kayaking
  • Hiking
  • Ziplining
  • Fishing
  • Canyoning
  • River Tubing
  • Snorkelling
  • Rock Climbing
  • 4WD and so much more!

The team also made their way to the East coast, launching a series of day adventures on the beautiful Moreton Island. The gang over there took our people quad biking, followed by beach games and heli tours over the crystal blue waters that trace the coastline.

But it wasn’t always heart pumping, action-packed adventures. School holidays were filled with family days over at Rottnest Island, ice skating, and high ropes courses for our people in South Australia. There were also partners winery tours thrown in the mix to get loved ones involved in the fun!

General Manager of Culture and adventure expert, Ben Nash (whose Three Gears nickname is Big Red), commented on the division’s success.

‘At Three Gears, we want to give our people the confidence they need to tackle anything life throws their way. It’s been wicked to see the impact we’ve had on our people, bringing everyone together and pushing them out of their comfort zone. I’m buzzing to see what’s in store for 2024!’

As we look ahead, Three Gears are kicking it up a gear with plans to take their adventures further within Australia, exploring new places and trying new things. They also hope to take the program over international waters, into the US!
