Launch of WA Field Services & Our Global Debut
Now with 20 employees on board, Mader’s famous field services are launched in Western Australia! This year also marked our first step onto the international stage, with Mader taking on work in Zambia—our first project outside of Australia.
Mader International Takes Off
Mader International is officially launched after successful expansion to the major mining regions of Africa and Southeast Asia.
Mader Reaches 100+ Employees
By November, Mader hit a major milestone, growing to over 100 employees. With a strong team behind us, we continued expanding, setting the stage for even greater success.
Mader Launches Ancillary Services & Enters Queensland
Recognising the flexibility of our tap-on, tap-off model, we launched our Ancillary division, offering Auto and High Voltage Electricians, Boilermakers, Light Vehicle Mechanics, and Heavy Road Transport Mechanics. We also expanded into Queensland. In February, we hit another milestone—growing to over 250 employees across the business.
Riding for a Cause: Mader’s First Ride to Conquer Cancer
In October, the Mader team took on their first Ride to Conquer Cancer, marking the start of an annual tradition. This ride became a meaningful way to give back, uniting our team for a great cause year after year.
Mader Hits 500+ Employees & Expands Nationwide with New Divisions
Rapid growth sees Mader reach 500+ employees! With a large team behind us, we formerly established our Shutdowns and Fixed Plant Divisions, as well as started working in South Australia, New South Wales and the Northern Territory.
A New HQ and First Steps into the US Market
We started 2018 by surpassing 1,000 employees, then launched our Rapid Response team in the Pilbara. Mid-year, we expanded into the U.S. with our first office in Colorado and moved into a new Head Office at Perth Airport to support continued growth.
Building Teams, Branches & Communities
In October, Mader QLD launched its own Ancillary division, adding Boilermakers, Auto Electricians, and High Voltage Mechanics. By November, we opened an office in Maitland, NSW, expanding into southern regions. We ended the year by completing a major school project in Zambia, highlighting our commitment to community impact.
New Divisions & New Destinations
In January, we launched the Mader Clean Team in WA, followed by our Drill Support Division in February. We expanded into South America and the Philippines for the first time, delivering technical services and mentorship abroad.
ASX Success and Launch of Trade Upgrade Program
To top it off, we achieved a major milestone—our official listing on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), marking a defining moment in Mader’s journey. By October, we introduced our Trade Upgrade Program, helping upskill LV Mechanics into HD roles for entry into mining.
Marking 15 Years with New Growth and New Locations
In February, we opened a new office in Adelaide, South Australia, and by March, our team had grown to over 1,300 employees. June marked a major milestone—our 15-year anniversary!
Growth in the U.S. and a New Home in Queensland
As operations in the U.S. expanded, we opened new offices in Nevada to support our growing team. Back in Australia, we rounded out the year by relocating our Queensland office from Mackay to Brisbane in December, setting the stage for even greater success.
New Leadership & Excellence in Training
In 2021, Justin Nuich was appointed CEO, leading Mader into its next phase of growth. That same year, our Trade Upgrade Program was recognised with a Training Excellence Award at the 2021 Australian Business Awards
Expanding into Canada, Launching Mader Energy and Employer of the Year
We launched a dedicated Hard Rock division in Mt Isa, expanded into Canada with first works in Alberta, and opened Mader Energy in Fort Worth, Texas. We wrapped up the year as Employer of the Year at the 2021 RISE Business Awards.
Expanding Trade Upgrade and Launching Global Pathways
In 2022, we kicked off the year by expanding our Trade Upgrade Program into Queensland. By June, we launched our Global Pathways Program, with technicians relocating from Australia to Canada for the first time.
New Maintenance Centre, Team Adventures and Award Recognition
In July, our Perth workshop moved to the new Mader Maintenance Centre in High Wycombe—now the hub for offsite rebuilds. We also launched Three Gears, our internal adventure division, and wrapped up the year as Large Business of the Year at the 2022 RISE Business Awards.
Driving Diversification Across Multiple Industries
Mader expanded further into rail, infrastructure maintenance, transport and logistics, energy, power generation, and marine—driving diversification across multiple industries.
Recognised as Employer of the Year with 3,000 Strong Team
In November, we were honoured to be named Employer of the Year at the 2023 RISE Business Awards, recognising our commitment to our people. By year’s end, our global team had surpassed 3,000 employees—a testament to our continued growth and success.
Scaling Up Services and Adventures Around the World
In 2024, Mader strengthened its position as a diversified technical services provider. By June, our team grew to over 3,200 employees worldwide. Meanwhile, Three Gears expanded its footprint, delivering adventure trips across Australia, New Zealand, the US, and Canada.

In 2025, Mader proudly celebrates its 20-year anniversary! From humble beginnings to a global presence, we’ve grown to 3,500+ employees working across 570 locations in 9 countries.
