Are you a Light Vehicle Mechanic looking to further your trade?

Mader Trade Upgrade is an award-winning training program that gives experienced Light Vehicle Mechanics the opportunity to develop their skills and become qualified Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics. Not only will you broaden your skill set and open the door to a variety of opportunities for your future, but you’ll also support a constantly evolving industry and help tackle the skills shortage!

If you’re a qualified Light Vehicle Mechanic, our Trade Upgrade Program will see you complete 10 paid weeks at TAFE before jumping in to 15 months on-site learning.

During the program, you will work with some of the biggest players in the industry and gain exposure to a wide range of equipment, while working across various mine sites! Once you finish the program, you’ll graduate with a Cert III in Mobile Plant Technology.

A day in the life of a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic

You’ll work with a number of Mader Group’s valued mining clients across a variety of worksites and regions. Gain exposure to a diverse range of earthmoving equipment including excavators, wheel loaders, graders and more, comprising all makes and models. A day in the life of a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic can vary greatly but you will enjoy servicing heavy equipment, diagnosing faults and conducting repairs. Maintenance often includes major component change outs involving engines, wheel ends, hydraulic pumps, transmissions, diffs and more!
