Mader Group, awarded a new scope of work supporting the 992 (OB25) Project.

Earlier this year in May, mining and civil contractor, Mader Group, were awarded a new scope of work supporting the 992 (OB25) Project for a major owner miner, maintaining their train load out fleet.

Mader were selected to manage the full scope of the mobile equipment maintenance workshop (MEM workshop), allocating highly experienced tradespeople to the project. The project has seen Mader Group run a 21-strong team on the Pilbara site, including talented Supervisors, Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanics, Auto Electricians and Boilermakers.

Operating on a 2/1 roster, the project has also seen four recently upskilled tradespeople make their debut. Graduating from the first wave of candidates in Mader’s Trade Upgrade Program, the group have already worked on several sites, gaining experience with a number of mining giants.

The Trade Upgrade program assists experienced Light Vehicle Mechanics and Road Transport Mechanics and through a shortened apprenticeship to obtain a second trade as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic. The program offers a rare opportunity for them to gain experience alongside a national leader in equipment maintenance and a foothold into the mining industry.

Having commenced in late May, the 992 (OB25) Project signals the continuation of Mader’s long term relationship with a valued client in the Pilbara region, providing maintenance experts to sites across Australia.

Mader, now having proven their capacity to improve machine availability and reliability look forward to replicating their comprehensive project management service to other clients across the region.

The work scope is valued at approximating $6.5m over a 12 month period.
