From a team of one to a global footprint, discover how Mader’s commitment to progression pathways has powered two decades of career growth, innovation, and opportunity.
As we commemorate 20 years of delivering world-class maintenance, identify pathways towards progression, and leading the way in business innovation, we’re proud to reflect on the milestones we’ve reached throughout the last two decades.
The biggest milestone being our inception, back in 2005, founded by Executive Chairman Luke Mader. On a hot day in the Kimberely region of WA, Luke identified a gap in the industry to provide maintenance support to mining operations.
Fast forward to 2008, Mader opened their first Perth workshop in High Wycombe to carry out offsite machine repairs locally.
It was in 2009 that we reach 20 employees and launched our famous Field Service division in Western Australia. This year also marks our introduction to the international market, establishing work in Zambia, Africa, our first ever operations outside of Australia.
Headcount reached triple digits in 2012, growing to over 100 employees. Back by a strong workforce, Mader continued to grow, setting a foundation for a future of success.
It wasn’t long after, in 2015, that we cracked 250+ employees, and planted roots in Queensland.
It wasn’t until 2018 that we really started to notice the Mader difference. We reached an epic 1,000+ employees, expanding our service offerings throughout Australia and officially moving into America, opening an office in Colorado to provide services in the Wyoming, Colorado and Nevada regions.
After years of monumental growth, Mader was officially listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in 2019, marking a defining moment in Mader’s history.
Two years later in 2021, Mader expands their North American operations into Canada, with first works in Alberta. We also stepped into the energy sector, with the establishment of our organic start-up, Mader Energy, based in Forth Worth, Texas.
With footing all over the globe, we launched our unparalleled employee transfer program, Global Pathways, in 2022. This enabled us to send skilled tradespeople from Australia to North America, strengthening our international workforce and building our global reputation. We also launched our dedicated internal adventure division, Three Gears, to support company culture and allow our employees to bond outside of work.
This year, in 2025, we’re proud to celebrate our 20-year anniversary. What started as one man with his ute in the Kimberely, has since grown into a global powerhouse in the mining and resources industries.
We’ve grown to over 3,500 employees worldwide, working across 570 locations in 9 countries, supporting over 430 valued customers. With an outstanding 25+ services, our scope of work is wider than ever, and continues to expand. Our fleet of over 1,800 vehicles traverse the globe daily, while we continue to deliver industry leading technical services, driven by our people.
